EXPO2025 京の小路の制服のジレを製作しました！
EXPO2025 会場にて京都の物産品・お土産物の販売している「おこしやす 京の小路」にて制服として着用されているジレを加音と就労継続支援事業所 ワークハウスせいらんさんで製作しました。
ジレは役目を終えた着物をアップサイクルしたもので、地域の方々から寄付でいただいた着物で製作しました。大事に着用されていたことが分かる着物や、手縫いでできた着物など、1着１着にストーリーがありました。
この取り組みは、京都に根付いている物を大切に使う価値観や知恵を未来につないでいくために立ち上げられた「京テキ・スタイルプロジェクト」のひとつで、ほかにもふろしきの活用や高齢の方々によるハンドクラフトの作業などもあります。

加音では京テキ・スタイルプロジェクトの中のジレの製作と、万博にてプラスチックのレジ袋の代わりとして販売されるふろしきのたたみ・シール貼り等の作業を行いました。ふろしきの作業風景も引き続き更新していきます！

まずは着物のほどきから。着物をほどく作業は加音では以前からお仕事でいただいており、利用者さんの得意な作業のひとつです。
ほどいた着物をミシンの得意な利用者さんが縫製していきます。袖・衿・裾・ベルト・肩のタック等々…。試行錯誤しながら初めての作業に取り組んでいきました。縫製のお仕事をされている利用者さんのご家族の方にもアドバイスをいただきながらジレを製作していきました。それぞれにストーリーのある、世界でひとつのジレが完成しました！ジレはEXPO2025会場内北エリアの「京の小路」で着用されています。機会がございましたらぜひご覧くださいませ。

EXPO2025 Gilets for the Uniform of “Okoshiyasu Kyo no Koji” at the EXPO2025 Venue!
Kanon, in collaboration with Workhouse Seiran—a continuous employment support facility—has crafted unique gilets for the uniforms worn at Okoshiyasu Kyo no Koji, a Kyoto-themed shop showcasing local products and souvenirs at the EXPO2025 venue.
These gilets are made from upcycled kimonos donated by local residents. Each kimono carries its own story—some were lovingly worn for years, while others were carefully hand-sewn.
This meaningful initiative is part of the Kyo-teki Style Project, which aims to preserve and pass down Kyoto’s deeply rooted culture of valuing and reusing materials. Other of its activities include encouraging furoshiki use and supporting elderly artisans’ handcrafts.

As part of the Kyo-teki Style Project, Kanon also contributed by folding and sealing furoshiki (traditional wrapping cloths), which will be sold at the Expo as eco-friendly alternatives to plastic shopping bags. The careful process of folding and labeling the furoshiki continues—and we’ll keep sharing updates on this ongoing effort!
Making the Gilets
The first step in making the gilets was untying the kimonos—a familiar task at Kanon and one in which many of the Kanon members excel. Those skilled with sewing machines then repurposed the kimono fabric into wearable gilets, carefully crafting sleeves, collars, hems, belts, and shoulder tucks. It was a process of trial and error, tackled with creativity and support, including helpful advice from the members’ family who work in the sewing industry.
Each gilet is truly one-of-a-kind, rich with character and history.
These special gilets are now being worn at the Kyo-no-Koji exhibit in the North Area of EXPO2025. If you visit the venue, be sure to take a look!
