2025大阪・関西万博 関西パビリオン 京都ゾーン「環境・SDGsウィーク」ウィークスに参加します！ Participation in the “Environment & SDGs Weeks” in the Kyoto Zone of the Kansai Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan!
8月4日(月)～8月17日（木）に大阪・関西万博 関西パビリオン内の京都ゾーンにて「環境・SDGs」ウィークスが開催されます。
加音は京都光華女子大学の学生さんとともに8月12日（火）に関西パビリオン 京都ゾーン「環境・SDGsウィーク」に参加します！
「環境・SDGs」をテーマに京都光華女子大学と協働して、きものをアップサイクルして制作したジレを着用し、ミニファッションショーを行います！
ファッションショーの後にはラボのコーナーで利用者さんがきもののほどきを実演します。着物は古来より仕立て直して子に受け継いだり、着られなくなってもおむつや雑巾にしたり、身近な循環型の衣類でした。ラボでは利用者さんがきもののほどきを実演し、着物を新たな形に変えてゆくひとこまをご覧いただきます。
ラボでは来場された皆様と対話ができます！お気軽に話しかけてください♪
ラボのあとは、大阪・関西万博の「いのちの遊び場 クラゲ館」をプロデュースされた中島さち子さんと対話ショーを行います。

8月23日(土)に京都里山SDGsラボ「ことす」（京都市右京区京北周山）で開催される「京都超SDGsシンポジウム」にも参加します！関西パビリオン 京都ゾーンにて展示するきものをアップサイクルしたジレを展示予定です。

From Monday, August 4 to Thursday, August 17, the “Environment & SDGs Weeks” will be held in the Kyoto Zone of the Kansai Pavilion at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
Kanon will participate in the Kyoto Zone’s “Environment & SDGs Week” on Tuesday, August 12, together with students from Kyoto Koka Women’s University!
Collaborating with the university, we will hold a mini fashion show featuring vests (gilets) upcycled from kimonos, under the theme of “Environment & SDGs.”
After the fashion show, there will be a demonstration in the lab corner where Kanon members will show how kimonos are unstitched.
Traditionally, kimonos have been refashioned and passed down through generations, and when no longer wearable, reused as items such as diapers or cleaning cloths—making them a naturally sustainable form of clothing.
In the lab, you will witness the transformation of kimonos into new forms through live demonstrations of unsewing.
Visitors are welcome to chat with Kanon members in the lab—please feel free to come and talk!
After the lab session, we will host a dialogue show with Ms. Sachiko Nakajima, who produced the “Jellyfish Pavilion: Playground of Life” at the Expo.
Only two and a half months remain until the end of Expo 2025.

Please note that entry to the Expo venue requires a ticket and advance reservation.
Admission to the Kansai Pavilion is by lottery system.
This project is supported by a grant from the Toshiba International Foundation.
We will also participate in the “Kyoto Town SDGs Symposium” to be held on Saturday, August 23 at the Kyoto Satoyama SDGs Lab “KOTOSU” (Keihoku Shuzan, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City). The upcycled kimono vests displayed at the Kansai Pavilion will also be showcased there. It’s a rare chance to see Expo exhibits in Kyoto—don’t miss it!
